Antoine Beato Collection. [1860s-1880s].

Collection consists of five photographs of Egypt, four of which focus on major historical sites, including the Pyramids at Giza, the Sphinx, and the tombs of the Mamlukes outside of Cairo. Titles are as follows: 964:0405:0001: Cairo, Mosque of Kaitbey [sic, Qu'it Bay], Eastern Cemetery; 964:0405:0002: Cairo, Tombs in the Eastern Cemetry [sic], or "Cemetry [sic] of the Sahra'; 964:0405:0003: The Sphynx and Pyramid of Cheops in distance; 973:0035:0001: [Dahabiyeh moored on the banks of the Nile]; 979:0005:0005: Medinet Abou [sic, Medinet Habu].

5 photographic prints : albumen ; images 25.4 x 36.8 cm. or smaller, on mounts 34.8 x 43.3 cm. or smaller.
